KANPUR: In his humourous speech at the historical Phoolbagh ground here on Thursday noon, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Venkaiah Naidu electrified the atmosphere at the party rally. Levelling charges of promoting nepotism in politics against the Congress and the SP, Naidu said these parties were experiencing the leadership crisis and called upon BJP workers to expose such organisations.Addressing an impressive gathering, the BJP chief claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee would complete its full tenure at the Centre.

He said that the NDA was enjoying the support of several political parties from inside as well as outside the government. Taking a dig at the Congress for its frequent splits, Naidu said, ''there are so many Congress parties ... Congress I, Congress U, Congress S, Nationalist Congress, Loktantrik Congress and Tamil Manilaa Congress. People are confused, it is difficult to recognise the real Congress. Naidu did not forget to apologise for his poor Hindi and requested the gathering to understand his feelings and did not bother for his language. The national president of the BJP said that even media used to ignore the party when it was not in power. But now when the BJP had emerged as the single largest party in the country, all the national, local and regional newspapers were giving importance to it, he added. Naidu also held the Congress responsible for the Kashmir problem. State president of the BJP Vinay Katiyar, former chief ministers Rajnath Singh and Ram Prakash Gupta, state urban development minister Lalji Tandon and state in-charge of the party Kalraj Mishra also attended the rally.
